Our Academics
Rigorous, classical curriculum, forming students into mature adults who are grounded in the faith, capable of critique and analysis of all systems of thought in accordance with the truth and virtue.
Theology
Our youngest students begin by learning Bible stories. In second grade, we study the Gospel of Matthew. Students then spend two years studying the Old Testament, followed by two years of the New Testament. In seventh and eighth grades, Rev. Gaub delivers a robust Lutheran Catechesis class.
Language
We use time-tested resources like Shurley Grammar and The Writing Road to Reading to instruct our students in the English language. For Latin instruction, the younger students begin with Song School Latin and then move through Memoria Press's Latin curriculum.
History and Classical Studies
Beginning with Story of the World, students explore human history through classical books while reading excellent literature like Aesop's Fables and D'Aulaires' Greek Myths. Reading the Great Books alongside Memoria Press's Famous Men series gives students a broad perspective of our past.
The Flow Of A Typical Day
To start each day, all students assemble in the chapel to hear God’s Word, sing hymns, and pray. Christian-based, rigorous curriculum encompasses typical school subjects such as phonics, grammar, mathematics, handwriting (including cursive), classic literature, science, geography, history, Latin, and others you won’t find elsewhere. Recess/outdoor play is both structured and free. The day rounds out with a closing liturgy and prayer.
"Lutheran Classical Academy has been the greatest blessing to my family. It has far exceeded my expectations for academic rigor. The teachers are wonderful to work with and set high standards in a way that deeply engages students. My daughter loves school and all that she is learning. I am tremendously impressed with her Biblical literacy, memory work, math and reading skills. I am convinced a better education does not exist in Ozaukee County."

“Coming from homeschooling, we immediately felt at home at Lutheran Classical Academy. The small class sizes and classical approach reflect what we valued at home, while providing expert instruction, catechesis, and subjects that would have been difficult to teach ourselves—like Latin. Most importantly, the teachers are deeply invested in both academic excellence and character formation. The best part of my day is hearing what my daughter learned and watching her proudly teach me her Latin!"
